At Kabashima Iris Garden along the river course, approximately 30,000 irises of 36 varieties bloom from late May to mid-June.
Each variety of iris blooms at a different time, and the irises gradually become more vibrant.
You can also see it from along the river boat course and the Waterside Promenade, one of Japan’s 100 Best Roads.
During this season, be sure to enjoy the irises along the moat where the donko boats pass by.
Iris Garden Information
Kabashima Iris Garden (about 200m south of Yanagawa City Hall)
*As this is a private residence, please use the Yanagawa City Hall Yanagawa Building Parking Lot (open until 5pm on weekends and holidays).
Please note that the parking lot may not be available due to events, etc.
Period: Late May to mid-June
Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Transfer to a bus from Nishitetsu Yanagawa Station
Get off at the City Hall bus stop and walk for about 3 minutes (about 200m south)
For those coming by car
