The 73rd Hakushu Festival Water Parade
In memory of the great achievements of Hakushu Kitahara, Yanagawa’s proud poet,
We will be holding the “Hakushu Festival Water Parade.”
Every year on November 1st, 2nd and 3rd, including his death anniversary on November 2nd.
The Water Parade will be held in Suigo Yanagawa, the birthplace of Hakushu’s poetry.
There are stages at various points along the approximately 4km course, where you can enjoy local performing arts, taiko drumming,
There will be a choir, brass band, and more.
Lanterns float on the water, and you can feel the heartfelt welcome and hospitality of the local people.
At the final point, the ride will conclude with a fireworks display.
A water parade unique to the water town of Yanagawa.
You can feel the sentiment towards Kitahara Hakushu and experience a fantastic night.
The water parade, which began on the 10th anniversary of Hakushu Sensei’s death, will celebrate its 73rd anniversary this year in 2025.
